Residential zoning has long been misrepresented, misapplied, and misunderstood. Like many design issues in HVAC, zoning is probably as much as an art as it is a science. This presentation will explore some of the misconceptions about zoning, steps in the “art” of designing a zoned system, and discussion over the different types and philosophies of zoned systems. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the practical limits of using and recommending zoned systems to their customers, the proper steps in selecting and installing a zoned system, and the marketing statements that they often hear.
